Introduction To Yoga Classes
These classes have been carefully crafted, in view to offer you a vast array of yoga poses, ensuring that your interest stays high and your body gets a great workout.
Basic Yoga Class
We will start yoga, with 10 minutes on each type of posture, learning some basic yoga exercises.
The last 10 minutes are dedicated to meditation, to bring calmness and rejuvenate the benefits of our hard work.
Seated Postures Yoga Class
Seated asana postures, provide us with a good grounding in yoga along with a realization of calm. This class is great and includes a range of poses.
Standing Postures Yoga Class
These standing postures are great for building strength, balance and focus. It includes the Triangle Pose and the Side Angle Pose to name a few.
Seated And Standing Yoga Class
Seated postures are great for grounding and calming while standing postures are more energetic and great for building strength, concentration and focus.
This is a great class with a number of poses including, The Lotus, The Butterfly, and The Seated Straddle to name just a few.
Inversion Yoga Class
Inversions (turning upside down), are great for balance, concentration and circulation. This class includes poses such as The Forearm Stand, which is beneficial for strengthening your arms and shoulders. These poses help in opening the hips, improving circulation, balance, and patience.
Pranayama (Breathing exercises): We will relax our body after the workout, Pranayama helps with Lung function and overall health. There are many benefits, and we will learn as we progress step by step.
Meditation: You will learn a variety of meditation techniques, bringing your focus to an object, a thought, or a mantra. Meditation improves concentration, brings peace of mind, makes one mindful, and helps you connect to your higher self.
This program is for you if you are new to yoga. In a span of 6-weeks you’ll cover the basic building blocks of yoga so as you can feel confident taking your passion to the next level.
Week 1 –We will learn a little about Yoga and about it’s roots. Then we start with the basics of alignment and learn how to use props and how to connect the breath with movements.
Week 2 – Next we go through the basics of ‘flow’, using Sun Salutations to build up strength in your core and upper body.
Week 3 – We’ll recap on everything we’ve done so far and then look at the most common standing poses in depth. In the second class of the week, we’ll bring that together and practice the poses in a flow sequence.
Week 4 – Then we’ll look at seated poses and some more breathing techniques and how you can use them to energize or to relax.
Week 5 – We’ll put everything together in a full sequence with a short meditation to finish.
Week 6 – In this final week, you’ll repeat week 5 and also try out some other beginner classes.
